Ravens Will Start Rookie Smith at QB Sunday
Posted by Matt Loede on December 21st, 2007 filed in NewsThe Baltimore Ravens will start rookie quarterback Troy Smith Sunday when the team visits Seattle. Smith will get the nod over Kyle Boller, who is still recovering from a concussion. The 2006 Heisman Trophy winner came in after Boller was injured in last week’s loss to Miami, and guided the Ravens to a game-tying, 59-yard drive with time winding down in regulation. He then marched the team down the field for a potential game-winning field goal, but Matt Stover missed the 44-yard try. The Dolphins went on to win their first game of the season. The Ohio State product threw for 2,542 yards with 30 touchdowns and just six interceptions in 2006 to win the Heisman.
