The Carroll County Times is reporting that the Ravens have waived defensive lineman Kenny King. Last season King spent the whole year on the non-football injury list. He is 6-foot-4 and 284 pounds, but he is injury prone and probably won’t find much work elsewhere around the league.

The Baltimore Ravens received a bit of good news that affects their bottom line as Aaron Wilson of the Carroll County Times reports that tight end Todd Heap has restructured his current contract, creating additional cap space for the team to be able to sign linebacker Terrell Suggs should they make him their franchise player.

After an increased salary offer and a change of heart, Greg Mattison has decided to accept the Baltimore Ravens’ offer to join their defensive staff, according to Aaron Wilson of the Carroll County Times and verified by University of Florida head coach Urban Meyer; Mattison is expected to coach the Ravens’ linebackers.

Two more assistant coaches have joined John Harbaugh’s Ravens staff: Jim Hostler is the Ravens’ wide receivers coach and Craig Ver Steeg is the team’s offensive quality control coach.
