A game changing dramatic interception by rookie Paul Kruger was a nightmare for the Steelers in Sunday’s game. When the Ravens sent their rookie defensive end in coverage, Kruger made a very athletic interception to put his team in position for their final drive. Many know the story of Paul Kruger who endured a car accident when he was 13 and then in 2008 survived a stabbing. Fans have been waiting to see more of Kruger and in Sunday’s game they got their wish.

The Nightmare INT

The defensive play was that out of the Steelers playbook as they sometimes drop their defensive ends into coverage while the linebackers blitz. The Ravens went into a similar package as Kruger dropped off into pass coverage. Of course, if QB Ben Roethlisberger was in the game it would have probably been a different story. However, Kruger executed the play well and was rewarded for being in the right spot.

Game Ball Awards

It never is pretty against the Steelers, but it was a win against a good defense. The Pittsburg Steelers are the toughest against the run this year and the Ravens did a great job in the middle of the line opening up holes for all three running backs. If you were handing out awards the first would have to go to the interior of the offensive line for their run blocking. Ray Rice also deserves accolades as he made a great reception on a fourth and five; that catch may have saved our season Rice ran hard between the tackles and put on a gutsy performance. Also deserving of a game ball was cornerback Lardarius Webb who played well and broke up a TD pass in the end zone. You have to like the way Webb makes tackles and attacks the football. Webb has been a solid kick returner as well.
